Process Flow of Ultrapure Water Equipment for Electroplating and Coating

Date:2026-01-04
The traditional process for producing ultrapure water for electroplating and coating uses ion exchange resins. Its disadvantage is that frequent resin regeneration is required, which consumes both materials and labor.
Based on years of practice, Kunshan Jintianyuan in Jiangsu has combined advanced membrane separation technology and adopted a system of reverse osmosis (RO) plus ion exchange to produce ultrapure water. Compared with the traditional method, this process features lower cost, reliable operation and advanced technology.
The modern processes for ultrapure water production for electroplating and coating can be divided into three types: ion exchange process, two-stage reverse osmosis process, and high-efficiency RO + EDI process.

1. Ion Exchange Process

Tap water → Motorized valve → Multi-media filter → Activated carbon filter → Water softener → Intermediate tank → Low-pressure pump → Precision filter → Cation resin bed → Anion resin bed → Mixed bed resin → Microporous filter → Point of use

2. Two-Stage Reverse Osmosis Process

Tap water → Motorized valve → Multi-media filter → Activated carbon filter → Water softener → Intermediate tank → Low-pressure pump → Precision filter → Primary RO → pH adjustment → Mixer → Secondary RO (positively charged RO membrane) → Pure water tank → Pure water pump → Microporous filter → Point of use

3. High-Efficiency RO + EDI Process

Tap water → Motorized valve → Multi-media filter → Activated carbon filter → Water softener → Intermediate tank → Low-pressure pump → pH adjustment system → High-efficiency mixer → Precision filter → High-efficiency RO → Intermediate tank → EDI feed pump → EDI system → Microporous filter → Point of use
